So many members continued to impress the Beyond Limits Training staff, but these two stood out in the months of October and November 2012.

Michael Goodstein – October Member of the Month

Michael came to us fresh out of physical therapy after three knee surgeries in the past two years.  He had been very active playing tennis and biking long distances; but at 48 years young he needed to get into better shape and lose weight after the layoff.  Michael began personal training with Terrell in July and after just a few weeks began seeing great progress.  He then threw his name in the hat for the Leanest Winner annual weight loss competition to test himself.  After 13 weeks Michael dropped another 38 lbs (from 216 to 178 lbs) despite seriously injuring his hand during a tennis match.

A huge congratulations goes out to Michael for his excellent transformation, continued determination and great team spirit!  Michael could often be seen joking around with the other Leanest Winner participants (below left) buying some delicious baked goods for a member on their birthday.  The below right shot was taken during the middle of the competition.  He sent us a testimony half way through this process that is also listed below.

Bri Hawkins – November Member of the Month

Bri Squat_265_smBri joined Beyond Limits during the summer break from Ohio State and very quickly it was apparent that she was going to be strong!  Fortunately we have many avenues to test your strength at Beyond Limits, and she quickly set aim for a NASA drug free powerlifting meet in October with the help of Adam.  While there she broke the Ohio NASA state record with a 264.5 lb squat in the 132 class.  She also posted a 132 lb bench and a 269.5 lb deadlift.

After that Bri decided to throw her name in for the Denison Strongest on the Hill Strongwoman competition.  She won the women’s collegiate division posting great times in the speed events and totalling an impressive 37 deadlifts on 163 lb 2 inch axle in 60 seconds.  While getting stronger all the way into year end, she managed to lean out.

Watch out for Bri Hawkins in 2013!  Whatever she sets her sights on, she is sure to bring it!!  Congratulations on your success in 2012.  Leaner, stronger and pushing the limits of our female athletes!
